Leadership Frames™

Which Frame Do You Lead Through?

You already lead through a lens.

It shapes what you notice first, and how you read everyone else.

No title required. If your behavior affects someone else, you are leading something.

Four colleagues around a conference table, mid conversation.

Same Meeting. Different Frames.

Four colleagues in conversation around a table.

Your Frame does more than shape how you communicate. It shapes how you interpret everyone else.

Four reasonable people. One conversation. Four different things worth saying. Find out which lens you lead through.

    Four Frames. Four different lenses.

    One may feel familiar.
The others may help you better understand the people you work with every day.

Your Frame shapes what you notice first.

It also shapes what you treat as urgent, what you expect from people, and how you read the ones who do not see it the way you do.

Different does not always mean difficult.
Sometimes it just means a different lens.

Knowing your Frame will not put you in a box. It gives you language for something you have been doing your whole career without a name for it.

    Is this for me?

You do not need a title or direct reports to lead.

Leadership Frames™ is for leaders at every level, professionals who influence without authority, business owners, and people who develop or lead others across corporate, nonprofit, and ministry settings.

If your work involves communicating, influencing, collaborating, or making decisions with other people, Leadership Frames™ is for you.

    What is Leadership Frames™?

Leadership Frames™ is a leadership and behavior framework created through Heart and Hope Leadership Connection®. It is influenced by established behavioral concepts, including DISC, with its own names, language, visuals, interpretation, and leadership application.

The First Look is designed for leadership development and self-awareness. It is not a psychological or clinical assessment. The formal assessment is the Leadership Frames™ Behavior Profile.

    Who developed Leadership Frames™?

Leadership Frames™ was created by Kathy Taylor, leadership development strategist, executive coach, and author.

After years of working with leaders across corporate, ministry, and nonprofit settings, Kathy kept seeing the same pattern: two capable people could experience the same conversation and walk away with very different understandings of what was said, what was meant, or what should happen next.

What feels clear to one person may not be clear to someone looking through a different lens. Our Frame and lived experience can shape how much we explain, what we leave unsaid, and what we assume someone else already understands.

Leadership Frames™ gives us language to recognize those differences and communicate with greater awareness and intention.

“What’s in your head is not always coming out of your mouth.”

“This is the Frame I naturally lead through.”

Ten questions. Three minutes. A first look at your Frame and the lens shaping what you notice and how you interpret others.

    Leadership Frames™ Behavior Profile

Leadership requires vision, and vision starts with knowing your Frame.

A quick look at your Frame

    Before you begin

Think about how you naturally communicate, influence, make decisions, respond, and work with others. You do not need to manage people to answer these questions.

Consider meetings, projects, conversations, volunteer work, professional relationships, group decisions, and other situations where you interact with or influence others.

    Three things to remember

    1. Choose what sounds most like you. Not what you think the best leader should choose.
    2. There is no right or wrong answer. Each Frame brings strengths and potential blind spots.
    3. Think natural, not perfect. Choose what you tend to do first, especially when you are not intentionally adjusting your approach.

What does perfect vision look like?

    Perfect vision does not exist.

No one Frame sees everything. Every Frame helps you see something clearly, and every Frame can miss something too. The Aviator may see the destination. The Statement Frame may see the possibilities and people. The Classic Frame may see the relationships and impact. The Precision Frame may see the details and risks.

The four Leadership Frames shown together as a quadrant.
Leadership becomes clearer when those perspectives work together.

The goal is not to get rid of your natural lens, and the goal is not to expect everyone else to see things the way you do. The goal is to understand your Frame well enough to recognize:

    • What do I naturally see?
    • What might I be missing?
    • What could someone with a different Frame help me see?

When you understand your natural lens and learn to communicate beyond it, you create a clearer view for yourself and the people around you. When colleagues and teams do the same, the view becomes even stronger.

    Creating clearer vision

    1. Know your Frame. Recognize your natural tendencies.
    2. Understand your view. Notice what your lens naturally emphasizes.
    3. Consider their view. Recognize that someone else may be seeing something you do not.
    4. Adjust your lens. Choose how to communicate based on what the situation and the other person need.
    5. Create clearer vision together. Use different perspectives to strengthen communication, decisions, relationships, and results.

Because leadership requires vision, and vision starts with knowing your Frame.

    About your First Look

This First Look assessment is intended for leadership development, education, communication awareness, and personal reflection. The Frames are influenced by DISC behavioral style concepts; however, this First Look is not a DISC assessment and should not be interpreted as a substitute for a validated or licensed DISC behavioral assessment. This First Look is not a psychological, clinical, medical, or diagnostic instrument.

Results are based solely on the responses provided by the participant and are intended to offer a starting point for greater self-awareness and leadership development. Human behavior is complex. Individuals may demonstrate characteristics associated with more than one Frame, and behavior may vary based on circumstances, environment, relationships, role, experience, and level of pressure. No Frame should be considered inherently better, stronger, or more effective than another.

Results from this First Look should not be used by themselves to make hiring, promotion, termination, compensation, performance management, or other employment decisions. The Leadership Frames™ Behavior Profile and debrief provide a more comprehensive exploration of behavioral tendencies, communication preferences, adaptability, and leadership development opportunities.

    Leadership Frames™ Behavior Profile

    See the Full View

Your First Look introduces you to your Primary Frame. Your Full View shows you how that Frame actually behaves across the environments, expectations, relationships, and pressure you lead in.

Because people are more complex than one Frame.

    What you will explore

    • Your Public Profile: how you tend to show up in your current environment.
    • Your Private Profile: your more natural behavioral and communication preferences.
    • Your Pressure Patterns: what may shift when stress or demands increase.
    • Your Blind Spots: where your strengths may limit your view and affect how others experience you.

Your Full View includes a 90-minute conversation with Kathy, where we connect what you learn to the leadership situations you are actually in. Real conversations, real people, real decisions.

A leader facilitating a working session with a small group.

    How it works

    1. Complete your behavioral questionnaire. About 20 minutes. It is delivered through a separate assessment platform, because a validated instrument is the foundation for your Leadership Frames experience.
    2. Kathy prepares your profile. Your results are reviewed and translated into your Leadership Frames Behavior Profile.
    3. You meet for 90 minutes. One to one, where the profile becomes practical.

    • 90-minute 1:1 leadership debrief with Kathy Taylor $200 value
